Ev3ryd4y Cyb0rg TV is an experimental web tv project combining the media and creative computation practices of L[3]^2 with the mundane actions of everyday being. Ev3ryd4y Cyb0rg TV is a project that allows me to make robust electronic wearable pieces while avoiding any IRL performances of them. Each season is created around a different theme or technique.
Season 1, 2019
My goal for the first season was to create lo-fi videos capturing a cyborg going about her day in the usual way with very little spectacle. There's no change in behavior, though the wearables are cumbersome. There is no physical set or special preparation in the Season 1 episodes, outside of the electronic body modifications. These episodes are simply shot in my apartment with a smart phone. Low budget, low maintenance, real augmentations.
Season 2, 2022-23
Season 2 begins with a special episode commissioned by NYUAD gallery as a part of the exhibition, "not in, of, along, or relating to a line". The piece was created in response to the early days of the pandemic and this specific episode involves much more preparation, personnel, and production than the Season 1 episodes. By the time episode 2 comes along, I go back to the lo-fi and DIY feel of the original season but keep the more imaginative narratives. In episode 3, I find myself in the bathtub again with my red Cousteau beanie, playing with the idea of a human blowhole. There are a total of three episodes in Season 2, the common theme being water .
